Grand Theft Auto 6 is the highly anticipated sequel to a series that hasn't seen an installment in ten years, so it makes sense that Rockstar would want to spend a lot of time on it. Considering that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still years away, that would be an ill omen for RDR3's release date. Depending on how the company has been focused, Red Dead Redemption 3 may not be able to start proper development until after GTA 6's release.
That combined with the continued updates for Grand Theft Auto Online means that there is likely little room for the company to work on Red Dead Redemption 3 at the moment. It has been reported previously that Grand Theft Auto 6 is the sole current-gen title that Rockstar is focusing on right now.
